YDT - Foreıgn Language Test
YDT or YKS-Dil or (Yükseköğretim Kurumları Dil Sınavı) is a compulsory language exam for candidates who want to be placed in foreign language departments of universities in Turkiye. The exam consists of 80 questions and it takes 120 minutes.
Graduates of foreign language departments can work in every institution that provides education, communication and business with foreign languages in different areas. They can work as teachers, academicians, editors, translators, call center staff, tourist guides, interpreters, and online course instructors.
Anyone who is a senior high school student or a graduate of high school or equivalent school can take this exam.
In YDT, candidates are presented with a test consisting of various question forms such as paragraph, vocabulary, grammar, translation, dialog completion and gap filling from the language they have chosen.
YDS - Level Determination Exam for Foreign Language Knowledge
The YDS is an English language proficiency test primarily taken by civil servants, academics, and military personnel in Turkiye. Administered by ÖSYM, the test evaluates proficiency in reading comprehension as well as as listening, speaking, and writing skills.
YDS determines the level of foreign language knowledge of public personnel who want to receive foreign language compensation and people who want to settle in public institutions.
